A cozy seasonal cookbook concept featuring recipes for fall fruits and vegetables.

Project Overview

Objective

Create a cookbook prototype featuring a cover and two-page recipe spread that work in harmony with each other, while integrating both photographic and textual elements. Developed for my Typography course at The University of Baltimore.

Solution

My fall-inspired cookbook focuses on autumnal foods and drinks. Its warm design and approachable content perfectly complements the cozy recipe featured within.

Discovery

My goal with this project was to design a cookbook that could appeal to a broad audience, and I began with a research and writing phase. After picking a family favorite for my recipe (mulled apple cider), I started brainstorming ideas for my cookbook and recipe titles. I then started drafting my introductory paragraph and recipe.

Experimentation

Next, I started exploring the cookbook's design. I played with a variety of photos for my cover and recipe, and I experimented with different grid structures for my recipe layout.

Implementation

Finally, I selected the most promising designs to move forward with based on feedback from my classmates. My end product is warm and friendly, featuring mouth-watering imagery, modern typography, a clean layout, and an inviting overall design that evokes feelings of home.
